I’m an Animal Welfare Officer (better known as an Animal Control Officer/ACO). I respond to calls from citizens regarding loose dogs, injured animals, animal abuse/cruelty, aggressive animals, and instances where animal-related ordinances need to be enforced.

What is an Animal Control Officer?
An Animal Control Officer (ACO) is a specialized law enforcement professional who protects both human and animal safety. They investigate cases of cruelty or neglect, capture stray or dangerous animals, and ensure communities comply with local pet ordinances, licensing laws, and vaccination requirements.
